Megan Knight has called the White Rock area home for more than 46 years. She graduated from Semiahmoo Secondary, went on to study at the University of British Columbia, and in 1998 was commissioned as a British Columbia Notary Public, establishing a practice she ran for 25 years, serving local families and businesses with integrity and dedication.
Megan’s commitment to her community led her into public service. She was first elected to White Rock City Council in 2014, serving as a Councillor until 2018, and was elected Mayor of White Rock in 2022. As Mayor, she has worked to keep White Rock safe, support local businesses, protect its natural spaces and ensure the city’s public spaces remain vibrant and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
Her leadership extends well beyond city hall. Megan has served on the Metro Vancouver Board of Directors and the TransLink Mayors’ Council, giving her firsthand experience with the regional decisions that shape transportation, growth and costs for South Surrey and White Rock families. She has also served on the boards of the Sources Foundation, the Society of Notaries Public of BC, the Notary Foundation, the Fraser Valley Regional Library and Tour de White Rock.
In 2022, Megan was honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medallion in recognition of her contributions to community service.
As MLA for Surrey South, Megan will be a strong voice for safer communities and lower costs, and will deliver a provincial government that listens to the people it serves.
