New revelations are raising serious questions about the Eby NDP’s use of taxpayer dollars.

According to investigative reports from Sitka Media, in September 2025 the BC Government purchased a 12-acre plot of land in Abbotsford for $26 million for a francophone school.

Commercial real estate firm Avison Young notes that the property in question was 3044 Pratt Street, with a purchase price of $24,600,000 and the seller as Valley View Ventures Ltd., [doing business as] Könifer Building Products Inc (British Columbia investment review H2 2025, pg. 9).

The land was sold for $1.9 million in 2021. Former Abbotsford mayor Henry Braun, whose family owned the parcel until 2021 called the government’s recent purchase a “poor financial decision” and added: “the public should be outraged at how our current government spends our hard-earned money.”

“We all agree on the need to build schools, but it appears that the Eby NDP paid 150% above market price for a parcel the former owner says is mostly unbuildable. Is this yet another example of David Eby being irresponsible with British Columbians tax-dollars? Was someone tipped off that the BC Government was planning to purchase the land?” said Darryl Kropp, Conservative Party of BC candidate in Abbotsford-Mission.

“If there is a simple explanation, the NDP should be able to easily provide it today. But if David Eby refuses to answer, British Columbians can justifiably question how he is managing their tax-dollars,” concluded Kropp.
