Gordon Skulnec is the Conservative Party of BC Candidate for Kootenay Central
Gordon is a husband, father, volunteer and small business owner. He and his wife were both born and raised in the West Kootenays and have been married for 19 years.
Gordon began his career as a medical radiographer at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail before joining the RCMP. He served 17 years as a general duty police officer in the East Kootenays, beginning in Cranbrook, and retired from the Kimberley detachment in May 2023. For the past 20 years, he has also run a small business as a rental housing provider and property manager, working with landlords and tenants alike, and for the past decade he has operated a business in Salmo.
Serving his community, especially its young people, has always been important to Gordon. He started as a youth group leader in Trail and coached Cranbrook Minor Baseball house and all-star teams for four years. Today he serves as Director of Baseball for the Cranbrook Minor Ball Association and drives the team bus for the Cranbrook Bandits. Faith matters deeply to his family. They attend Connect Church, where he helps lead the men’s group.
Gordon brings a humble heart and a willingness to listen, and he is committed to working alongside the people of Kootenay Central to build real progress for their communities.
