Jessy Sahota

CANDIDATE FOR Surrey-Serpentine River

Jessy Sahota is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Surrey-Serpentine. 

Jessy is a decorated law enforcement officer, international athlete, and dedicated community coach. In 2022, he was recognized by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) as one of the world’s Top 40 Police Officers Under 40.

Jessy’s unwavering commitment to youth is reflected in his extensive community involvement. Since 2009, he has devoted countless hours to Yo-Bro Yo-Girl Youth Initiative, a local non-profit organization, where he has coached young wrestlers in Surrey to multiple provincial titles. In recognition of his police service and volunteer contributions, Jessy received the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award in 2022.

A multi-sport athlete, Jessy has earned national and international recognition in wrestling, jiu-jitsu, and kabaddi. While studying at Simon Fraser University, he won a national wrestling championship. Jessy is married to his high-school sweetheart, Ikjot Sandhu. Both are graduates of Tamanawis Secondary School.

In 2026, individuals cannot contribute more than $1,513.29 in a calendar year to any political party, its riding associations, and its candidates.

The tax credit is based on the total amount of all your contributions to registered BC political parties this year:

  • 75% of contributions up to $100
  • 50% of contributions between $100 and $550
  • 33% of contributions between $550 and $1150

 

The maximum annual tax credit is $500.
