Kevin Acton is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Vernon-Lumby.
Kevin is a civic leader, entrepreneur, and registered massage therapist who has lived in the Vernon-Lumby area since 1991. He brings nearly two decades of local and regional government experience and a practical, community-first approach to public service across Vernon-Lumby.
First elected to Lumby Village Council in 2008, Kevin became Mayor in 2009 and is now serving his fifth term. For 18 years he has represented his community on the Regional District of North Okanagan, which serves municipalities and electoral areas throughout the riding and the wider region. He previously chaired the RDNO Board, currently chairs the North Okanagan/Columbia Shuswap Regional Hospital District, and has served on the board of the Economic Trust of the Southern Interior (ETSI-BC) and as the RDNO representative on the Municipal Finance Authority of British Columbia.
Kevin’s working life is rooted in the region. He has worked as a contractor and builder, served six years as a paramedic with the B.C. Ambulance Service, and for more than 25 years has been an entrepreneur and partner at Bloom Wellness Centre. He is a Registered Massage Therapist and holds an Executive Certificate in Local Government from Dalhousie University and a Level Three Certificate of Excellence in Local Government from the Local Government Leadership Academy.
