Margareta Dovgal is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Vancouver-Yaletown. She is a national economic commentator and policy analyst. She grew up below the poverty line, and built a professional career in economic development advocacy, after facing the loss of both parents in her teens.
Margareta was born and lives in Downtown Vancouver. She wants all families in Yaletown to be able to afford a home, have a government that respects every dollar they earn, and be safe in our community, rather than having to worry about needles in playgrounds or in dog parks.
She has been an advocate for a strong economy through national columns and regular broadcast commentary. Through her expert testimony before parliamentary committees, she has been a committed voice for BC in Ottawa. She knows how to challenge the NDP’s economic mismanagement and restore accountability for public services.
Margareta’s community work includes mental-health advocacy with the BC Schizophrenia Society and service through the Rotary Club of Vancouver Waterfront. She believes that public safety is the top priority for government, but the BC NDP has failed. She also co-founded and ran the Indigenous Partnerships Success Showcase, bringing people together to advance economic reconciliation through investment and shared prosperity. She is multilingual and has a Bachelor of Arts in Asian Area Studies from UBC and a Master of Public Administration from University College London.
