VANCOUVER, B.C. — David Eby and the BC NDP have a $2.8 billion mistake in their platform. The BC NDP’s platform says the Canada-BC Cooperative Prosperity Agreement is being used to fund $2.8 billion in health and transit investments.

There’s one problem: the Canada-BC Cooperative Prosperity Agreement does not include any money for health and transit investments.

The agreement covers topics like mining, LNG, the new pipeline, and only a commitment to discuss potential funding for the George Massey Tunnel, which could just include low-interest loans. The agreement has no health section. There are zero mentions of long-term care, seniors, hospitals, primary care, or transit.

“The question for Eby and the BC NDP is simple: where is the $2.8 billion they booked in their platform coming from, because it’s not the Prosperity Agreement,” said Trevor Halford.

This revelation comes just weeks after Eby and the BC NDP admitted to a $1.5 billion mistake in the provincial budget.

“At this point it is clear, Eby and the NDP are purposefully misleading British Columbians to save their jobs,” added Halford. “British Columbians cannot afford any more of David Eby’s reckless desperation.”
