Interim Leader of the Conservative Party Trevor Halford and Peace River South MLA Larry Neufeld have released the following joint statement regarding the tragic events in Tumbler Ridge:
“My thoughts are with the students, families, educators, and the entire Tumbler Ridge community. This is a small, close-knit town, and the impact of an event like this is felt by everyone,” said Larry Neufeld.
“My heart is broken for the province, for the people of Tumbler Ridge, for the parents, the students, the teachers, and the first responders,” said Trevor Halford.
“I want to thank first responders, school staff, and local officials for their swift and professional response during an incredibly difficult situation,” added Neufeld.
In light of these horrific events, it is a time for people to come together in community and support one another. Larry Neufeld is in Tumbler Ridge, having left from Victoria as soon as he was informed of the events. The Peace River South constituency office will remain open to provide support for the community.
