Curtis is the Conservative Party of BC candidate for Fort St. John. He will bring to Victoria his 36 years of energy-sector experience and decades of involvement in Northeast B.C.
Curtis has called Fort St. John and Northeast British Columbia home throughout a career and community life deeply connected to the region. With 36 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Curtis brings extensive firsthand knowledge of the energy sector and the communities and people who support it. He began his career in oilfield construction and maintenance before completing his Fourth Class Power Engineering training at SAIT in Calgary.
Over the following decades, Curtis worked across a wide range of operational and supervisory roles. His experience includes working as a field operator in multiple oil and gas fields throughout Northeast B.C., as well as in gas plant operations and the control room of a producing facility. He subsequently spent approximately a decade in oilfield waste management and later worked as a regional manager with an oilfield engineering firm. His career has also included experience in oilfield transportation and fluid hauling, regional field safety, and community engagement.
Curtis has also maintained a longstanding commitment to his community. He recently joined the Board of Directors of a local co-operative serving the Fort St. John area, continuing his involvement in organizations that support the region and its residents. He has volunteered with minor hockey as a coach and board member and served as Transportation Director for the Regional Trackers hockey program.
A proud father and part of a blended family, Curtis believes strongly in family, community involvement and contributing to the region he calls home.
