About Jaime Stein
Jaime Stein is a business and non-profit executive, a former broadcast journalist, and the Conservative candidate in Vancouver-Langara. He is running on the issues British Columbians feel first: the cost of living, health care that is there when you need it, and safe streets in every neighbourhood. After years of NDP management that left the province with unsustainable debt and a shrinking economy, Jaime believes taxpayers deserve a return on every dollar and government should be judged on results.
Personal Life
Born and raised in Vancouver and a graduate of Point Grey Secondary School, Jaime lives in Vancouver with his wife Jessica and their three children. He has lived across Canada and worked around the world, and chose to raise his family in the city that raised him.
Health care is personal for Jaime. His father died of leukemia in 2006 after a search for a matching stem cell donor. In the years that followed, Jaime worked with Canadian Blood Services on the national campaign that raised $12.5 million to establish Canada’s first public cord blood bank, so that other families would not face the same odds. He has since served as Vice Chair of CLEAR (Canadians for Leading Edge Alzheimer’s Research), which funds Alzheimer’s and dementia research in British Columbia.
Professional Background
Jaime is Director for Western Canada at the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center, a national human rights organization, where he leads its education, advocacy and community engagement work across the West. He partners with police forces, health authorities, universities and governments, and delivers Holocaust education and antisemitism training to thousands of front-line professionals each year.
Before joining the non-profit sector, Jaime spent two decades in broadcasting and technology. He began his career in media, where he was the radio voice of the CFL’s Toronto Argonauts on AM640 and spent four seasons as the on-camera host for the league’s website. He then moved into technology, holding senior roles at Hootsuite, BroadbandTV, ICUC and Taplytics, where he helped build a Vancouver company into a global brand, advised Fortune 500 clients, and led engagements across 14 countries on four continents.
Jaime holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Management, where he was valedictorian, a Bachelor of Journalism from Toronto Metropolitan University, and studied political science at McGill University.
Community Involvement
Jaime chaired the public affairs subcommittee of the Jewish Federation of British Columbia’s community crisis response team, working directly with elected officials on community safety and security policy, and serves on the Federation’s grants and allocations committee. He sits on the advisory board of CJPAC, a national organization that encourages Canadians to get involved in the political process, and is a Wexner Heritage Fellow, one of 20 chosen to represent Vancouver in the North America-wide program.
In 2025 he received the King Charles III Coronation Medal for his contributions to Canadian society.
