Lynne Block is the Conservative candidate for North Vancouver-Seymour. She is an educator, former school trustee and community leader who has dedicated her life to serving the North Shore. Having immigrated to Canada from England as a child, she grew up in British Columbia and went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree and a Master of Education from the University of British Columbia.
Lynne’s career in education spans elementary, secondary and post-secondary classrooms, as well as leadership in professional training and development. She has designed and delivered innovative programs for students and educators, including founding and facilitating the Youth Engaged in Social Responsibility Forums, which encouraged young people to take an active role in their communities. Her work in education earned her the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. She also co-founded a business and education consulting company dedicated to research-based learning, corporate social responsibility and collaborative leadership.
As an elected trustee in the West Vancouver School District, Lynne focused on improving student achievement while ensuring careful stewardship of public resources, balancing educational excellence with fiscal responsibility. In 2024, she was elected as a Conservative MLA, carrying the concerns of North Shore parents, seniors, educators, business owners and volunteers to Victoria.
Lynne has long given her time to her community. She has served on the North Shore Youth Justice and Family Court Committee and as British Columbia’s United Nations Representative for Women Educators International, and has volunteered with the Canadian Cancer Society, the BC Paraplegic Society and Violence Against Women in Relationships.
