VANCOUVER, B.C. — Why did David Eby appoint Aman Singh as the candidate for Richmond-Queensborough after his well-documented history of antisemitism?

Within days of the October 7th terrorist attack that claimed the lives of thousands of Jews, Aman Singh called for the Government of British Columbia to make a public statement about the plight of the Palestinians:

“And then within days of the massacre, Aman [Richmond-Queensborough NDP MLA Aman Singh] and Katrina [Burnaby-Lougheed NDP MLA Katrina Chen] decided that it was appropriate to “reply all” to my initial email asking folks to stand with the Jewish community in grief and mourning and ask that government make a public statement about the plight of the Palestinians.” – Selina Robinson, Former NDP MLA

Antisemitism has been a long-standing and well-documented problem in the NDP across the country.

When Selina Robinson left the NDP caucus in 2024 as a result of antisemitism she experienced, Premier Eby called it “humbling.”

Why then did he sign Aman Singh’s nomination papers?
